Project Background and Objectives
This reservoir is located at the central hub of Miaoli County. In addition to increasing the local water supply capacity, it will also help alleviate the water supply burden on Yongheshan Reservoir and Liyutan Reservoir. The reservoir is expected to provide 260,000 cubic meters of water per day, ensuring a stable water supply to meet regional demand and reducing the adverse impacts of climate variability on water resources. This project will support the long-term development, sustainability, and prosperity of the Miaoli, Hsinchu, and Taichung regions.

Project Data
- Dam Works: An impervious-core rockfill dam (ICRFD) with a total storage capacity of 48.84 million cubic meters and a catchment area of 6.93 square kilometers.
- Water Conveyance Works: Designed diversion capacity of 20 m³/s (cms), with a total length of 9.3 kilometers.
- Weir Works: Weir height of 2.5 m and an intake capacity of 22–25 m³/s (cms), including 20 m³/s for the reservoir and 2–5 m³/s for the Chuanlong Irrigation Canal.

Expected Benefits
- Increase water supply capacity by 260,000 m³/day, with priority given to meeting the water demand of Miaoli County.
- Enhance water supply support to Hsinchu and reduce the volume of water transferred from Taichung to Miaoli, thereby improving the stability and resilience of regional water resources.
