GeoPDF – Ecological Intelligence Maps for 26 Centrally Managed River Basins

This package includes GeoPDF files and accompanying guidelines for the 26 river Basins under central government jurisdiction. The ecological mapping data contains the following components:

1. Species Distribution – Actual Observation Points

  • Presented in 1 km × 1 km grid format
  • Covers 9 major biological groups with sufficient observation data:
    • Fish, Crustaceans (shrimp and crab), Insects, Amphibians, Reptiles, Mammals, Gastropods and Bivalves, Plants, Birds

2. Species Distribution – Predictive Models

  • Also presented in 1 km × 1 km grid format
  • Based on modeling outputs for the same 9 biological groups listed above

3. Ecological Environmental Layers

(1) Legally Designated Ecologically Sensitive Areas:

  • National Parks
  • Nature Reserves
  • Wildlife Conservation Areas
  • Important Wildlife Habitats
  • Natural Protected Areas
  • Coastal Conservation Areas
  • Nationally Important Wetlands

(2) Key Habitats of Concern:

  • Designated focus areas from the National Green Network
  • Identified important aquatic zones
  • Landscape-level focus zones under the National Green Network
  • Biodiversity hotspots
  • Critical bird habitats
  • Areas with high levels of naturalness

(3) Academically Significant and Publicly Noted Areas:

  • Potential distribution ranges for 379 terrestrial vertebrate species
  • Important habitats for Red List threatened plant species
  • Ecological focus areas such as the Papaya Creek basin

4. Other Thematic Layers of Concern

  • Thematic concern layers for specific river basins, tailored to local environmental or ecological issues

5. Base Layers

  • Boundaries of centrally managed river zones
  • River buffer zones (grid format)
  • Watershed boundaries
  • County/city administrative borders
  • Orthophoto imagery (standardized)
