Overview Training and capacity building are vital for cultivating professional talent capable of driving our core missions. In a rapidly changing environment, continuously strengthening our workforce's capabilities remains a top institutional priority.
Curriculum & Programs Our training consists of two main tracks: Foundational Training (covering planning, design, construction, and administration) and Specialized Professional Training, which features four key programs this year:
- Public Art in Practice: Integrating public art and environmental aesthetics into water infrastructure to transform technical facilities into human-centric spaces.
- Evidence-Based Watershed Governance & Spatial Data Integration: Cultivating data-driven decision-making mindsets through spatial data utilization and watershed mapping guidelines.
- Engineering Management in Practice: Shifting basic theory online to focus physical classes on hands-on lab work, award-winning site visits, and practical contract dispute case studies.
- Workplace Applications of AI Tools: Introducing mainstream generative AI tools into daily public administration to substantially boost workflow efficiency for all professionals.
Classroom lectures are supplemented with hands-on exercises and field studies led by seasoned experts to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Evaluation & Mentorship Participants are organized into project teams to foster cross-unit collaboration. This year, we feature a "Self-Directed Topic Selection" approach coupled with a "Mentorship System." Teams have the autonomy to define their own research topics using AI tools, while experienced mentors provide guidance to ensure project scopes remain focused and structured. The training concludes with a capstone presentation competition to recognize outstanding work.
Future Outlook To facilitate knowledge sharing across government levels, we have expanded our programs to train local government personnel. Moving forward, we aim to integrate more municipal and county professionals to collectively elevate the quality of water infrastructure and management across Taiwan.
