In order to strengthen the integrity exchange and cooperation and make the business operation smoother, Kuo-Liang Wang, Commissioner of the 9th River Management Office of the Water Resources Agency, led a meeting with Tsung-Hsi Tsai, the prosecutor-general of the Hualien District Prosecutors' Office, on July 14 and explained the current situation of the Office's current work and river dredging management, so that the professional work of water resources management can be done better through cross-disciplinary cooperation with the judiciary.
The 9th River Management Office is in charge of the Hualien River and the Siouguluan River basin, and every year, the Office handles dredging and improvement, maintenance of embankment facilities, and various flood control preparations. The risk of disaster has been reduced through enhanced management practices. The current 9th River Management Office sand and gravel dredging separated collecting from selling and it is supplemented by security monitoring and control measures at the entrances and exits of the dredging area, which can effectively eliminate the theft of sand and gravel. In addition, in terms of disaster prevention and response, the 9th River Management Office has introduced early warning technology and real-time monitoring system, with an advanced deployment to "pre-disaster preparedness, disaster response, post-disaster recovery" as the goal. It will keep abreast of flood conditions and respond to them immediately. Moreover, in order to enhance the density of river management, the 9th River Management Office emphasizes the training of flood control volunteers, making good use of local civilian forces to participate in patrol and prevention work. External social resources and manpower are also combined to jointly implement disaster prevention and flood control and maintain the safety of the water environment.
Prosecutor-general Tsai listened carefully to the description of services provided by the 9th River Management Office and affirmed the efforts of the Office in flood prevention and dredging, intelligent river management and the implementation of clean governance and efficiency. Prosecutor-general Tsai also shared his experience from the judiciary's point of view on dredging and the prevention of corruption and being clean and competent and hoped that the 9th River Management Office would continue to improve. He also said that he would do his best to assist in all areas of the District Prosecutor's Office's work, such as education on clean governance and law and discipline, seminars and the detection of violations, in order to improve the overall administrative efficiency and provide the public with a quality living environment.
Commissioner Wang also expressed his gratitude for prosecutor-general Tsai's support and stressed that the 9th River Management Office insists on clean governance and efficiency and implements all work and fraud prevention measures in accordance with the law. It continues to communicate horizontally with the prosecutors to establish a partnership and cooperate to prevent the involvement of undesirable forces or corruption and profanity to create a clean environment and enable civil servants to carry out their duties with peace of mind and courage and to successfully achieve the goal of a clean government.
